The
BEC Australia Awards for Performance are on again!
In
2008 BEC Australia will recognise the performance of its
members through the BEC Australia Awards for Performance in the
following categories:
• The Best
Metropolitan BEC,
• The Best Regional BEC, and
• The Best BEC Manager.
We will also
recognise clients of the BEC Australia network, highlighting
achievements of businesses in the micro-business sector in
Australia in the following categories:
• Best New
Start-Up Business
• Best Home-Based Business, and
• Best Micro Business.
All award
winners will receive trophies and a cash prize of $1500, with all
nominees and finalists receiving a certificate.
BECs and their
managers must be nominated by their clients. Business entrants must
be nominated by their assisting BEC.
All awards will
be presented at the Gala dinner of the Small Business Development
Conference to be held in Melbourne on the 14th of October 2008. The
awards of business winners will be accepted by their
assisting/nominating BEC on the evening and then presented at an
appropriate occasion in their local area.
The Purpose of
the Awards
We all
recognise the benefits to our communities that excellence in
service and innovation can deliver. The aim of the BEC Australia
Awards is to highlight the excellence that exists within the
national BEC network and recognise:
• Business
Enterprise Centres, their management and staff whose business
practices, innovation and core service delivery has realised
outstanding outcomes and economic benefits to their local
communities, and
• Business Enterprise Centre Managers who have displayed innovative
leadership in managing a BEC
• Micro-businesses whose business practices, innovation and service
delivery have realised outstanding outcomes, notably home-based and
start-up businesses.

has been assisted by your local BEC and would like to nominate,
please see your local BEC to arrange an application
form.
